Storage racking system suitable for the cold chain industry
The requirements and construction costs of warehouses in the cold chain industry are much higher than those of general warehouses. Therefore, when we choose the type of storage shelves, we should pay special attention to the utilization rate of warehouse space and whether the turnover of goods is convenient and fast. This is the common practice of all cold chain storage industries.
We can choose the following types of high-density storage racks: drive-in racks, push back racks, radio shuttle racks, gravity racks, narrow aisle (VNA) pallet racks, etc.
The following are the characteristics of these types of storage shelves. Only by understanding the differences and advantages of each type of shelf can you better choose a cold storage storage shelf system that suits you.
Push-in racks are suitable for storing goods in small batches and many types, and the storage mode is first-in-last-out.
Drive-in racks are suitable for the storage and retrieval of large quantities and small types of goods. The depth of the cargo space is generally 7-8 pallet positions. The load capacity of each pallet can be 800-2000KG. The access mode can be first-in first-out or first-in-last-out.
The access method of the radio shuttle rack is the same as that of the drive through rack, which can be first-in first-out or first-in-last-out. Goods entrance and exit can be set at both ends of the rack according to actual needs. The radio shuttle racking system is suitable for the storage and retrieval of a small variety of large quantities of goods, and the depth of the cargo space can be 20-30 pallet positions. At present, the radio shuttle racking technology on the market is relatively mature. The EBIL TECH can provide customized radio shuttle racking system solutions.
Gravity racks, also called roller racks. The structure of the gravity rack is similar to the pallet rack, except that the inclined roller track is added to the beam. The goods use their own weight slides from the entrance to the other end automatically. The storage and retrieval mode of this kind of shelf is also first-in-last-out.
Very Narrow aisle type (VNA) pallet rack: The structure of VNA pallet racking is similar to the beam rack only guide rails added at the bottom of the rack to prevent the forklift from impacting the rack. A three-way forklift is used for cargo storage and retrieval. Therefore, the forklift does not need to turn at right angles when picking up and storing pallet goods in the aisle. Narrow aisle racks can be used in various industries and help reducing labor intensity, reducing errors, and improving storage efficiency.
